What a mouth-watering prospect on Sunday 27 June 2010 when Argentina and Mexico, two of the most entertaining teams so far in the FIFA World Cup, meet in the Round of 16 tie at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
Argentina So Far in the FIFA World Cup
Argentina stormed to three wins and maximum points in their group games and did it with a flair and style that can not have failed to impress. Their most cautious game, unsurprisingly, was the opener against Nigeria, which
they won through an early goal by Gabriel Heinze. Only a splendid display by Nigeria’s goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama kept the score respectable.
The gloves were off though when Argentina took the field for their second match. South Korea were the victims and despite a plucky display could do nothing to stop Argentina running riot. Gonzalo Higuain was the man of the match as his hat-trick formed the foundation for the South Americans’ 4-1 victory.
